COSRX Cica-7 Solution || Cica Pad & Cica Cream Intense

vrijdag 8 april 2022

Oh god, it has been a very long time! With my life being on pause, my blog and skincare addiction had to be on pause as well, but I'm back with some reviews! On todays read we have products from the COSRX Cica-7 solution line. You guys know me, I loveeee COSRX. Their snail line has to be one of my favorites! If you are interested, click here for the read and my review.

The COSRX Cica-7 solution line focusses on outbreaks and acne prone skin. With their main ingredient being centella, which will help greatly with inflammation. The Cica Pad is a Multi-functional toner & sheet masking pad designed for those looking for toner pads that function as both a toner pad and sheet mask. A cool thing is that this product has the highest content of CICA in the whole line making it a great concentration product for your face. The Cica Cream Intense is a moisturizing cream that soothes the sensitive skin at the same time. It has 7 types of centella extract and offers intense moisture due to the 1,000 ppm of Centella Asiatica Oil + Panthenol + Allantoin, which makes this cream live up to its name.

Ingredients list

The Cica Pad

Centella Asiatica Extract, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Root Extract, which are the high-molecular cica ingredients, but it also consists low-molecular cica like asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassic acid, madecassoside.

Mentha Aquatica Extract, Water Mint Extract in other words will cool your skin caused by any sensitivity. "In depth analysis indicates that this cooling pad reduces the skin temperature by 7.3% after use." from the official COSRX website.

Centella Asiatica Extract, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Mentha Aquatica Extract, Allantoin, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Alpha-Arbutin, Xanthan Gum, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Madecassoside, Sodium Hyaluronate, Menthyl Lactate, Mentha Haplocalix Extract

The Cica Cream Intense

"The protective barrier made from 1,000 ppm of Centella Asiatica Oil + Panthenol + Allantoin protects moisture and keeps skin hydrated for a long time." quoted from the official COSRX website

Centella Asiatica Extract, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Cetearyl Olivate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sorbitan Olivate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Panthenol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Beeswax, Arginine, Carbomer, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Centella Asiatica Oil, Madecassoside, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Water, Pinus Pinaster Bark Extract

Look and feel
The design of the product is simple, easy to use and fits the theme of offering cooling effects on the face. What I extremely like about the design is that the key ingredients are right in the front, so we can immediately see the centella ingredients. Incorporating the color green as well, there's simply nothing I want to change about the design.

Before I go in with the final verdict, I just want to take a moment appreciating how thin the sheets are from the Cica Pad! Each sheet is packed with product as well and the amount of sheets seems endless. It comes with a clip and lid to keep the bacteries out, making it easier to get out the sheets, since they are clumped together.

I personally liked using this as an essence kind of product rather than a toner, so I used it after toner, before moisturizer. I liked to use 2-3 sheets for my face, covering both my cheeks and my forehead. Obviously there will be some spots that are not covered, you can use more to make it into a sheetmask or you can use it only on your problem areas. After leaving it in, I like to rub the excess product into my skin and move on to the moisturizer. I really like how cooling this product is! It feels super relaxing and after leaving it on my face there's still product left to rub into the rest of the skin.

The cream is perfect for the colder days since it helped a lot with keeping my skin moisturized, it calms my skin and gets rid of the redness as well. I like how the texture is not too thick, so its easy to work with fast absorption. It has a very faint smell that goes away quickly, but even if it lingered, it wouldnt bother me at all.

COSRX Advanced Snail 96 || All in one Cream & Mucin Power Essence

zondag 3 november 2019

This takes me back to my childhood.. I don't think I'm the only one, but I used to play with snails when I was younger. I grabbed them, let them walk on my hands and touched their eyes, because I thought it was funny. Now thinking back, it must have hurt so much for the snails, I mean, if I were to suddenly poke my own eye, wouldn't I flinch? Snails and slugs especially grosses me out now, so I've never imagined for it to be a beauty ingredient.

I have two COSRX products right here, the Advanced Snail 96 All in one Cream and the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. This line claims to provide intense hydration, repair skin damage and add radiance to the skin, all without feeling sticky, quite the opposite of what you imagine for a snail containing product. I will test the cream separately and then together with the essence for the best results.

Ingredients list

Dermatologist tested
Cruelty FREE
Parabens FREE
Sulfates FREE
Phthalates FREE
Alcohol FREE

All in one Cream:
Snail Secretion Filtrate, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Arginine, Dimethicone, Sodium Polyacrylate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Stearic Acid, Allantoin, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Adenosine

Mucin Power Essence:
Snail Secretion Filtrate, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Ethyl Hexanediol, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine

Look and feel

First starting off with the packaging. It has a simple look to it mainly using black, white and yellow. The cream comes in a jar, while the essence comes in a pump container. Personally, It would have been better if the cream also came in a pump container, because of the consistency. It's a liquid consistency that's sticky, so getting product out of the jar can be quite messy. For the essence I expected it to be more watery, but it feels more like a serum than an essence. Both products sinks into the skin pretty smooth and quick. There is a sticky feeling at first, but both products sink into the skin pretty smooth and quick so there's no sticky feeling afterwards.

I'm impressed guys, I love them both so much separately and even better together. When you use them together they compliment each other, resulting in a healthy hydrating glow. The cream by itself is moisturizing enough, but I like the extra moisture it gives with the essence combined. After using it for a while I've noticed that my skin was glowing and looking more healthier than ever and it shows on my face every morning. The essence takes a bit more time to sink into my skin, but overall they both absorb pretty well. You don't need much for the whole face, so a little goes a long way. This is for me the perfect combo for the fall season, achieving that healthy glow with enough moisture.

A'PIEU WATER LIGHT TINT || #CR01 Grapefruit, #RD03 Bitter Rose, #RD04 Berry

woensdag 2 oktober 2019

Hands down my favorite lip tint of 2019. I use this literally every single day, that's how much I love it. The A'pieu Water Light Tint has been around for a while now, so I'm super excited to finally share these babies with you guys and I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do.

A'pieu is a sister brand of the more well know Korean beauty brand Missha that caters more towards younger woman in their 20's. There is both a makeup line and a skincare line and their masks are especially so cute, but today the highlights are the Water Light Tint lip stain. It claims to deliver a vivid pigmentation with a glossy finish that lastes for hours, while it's also lightweight creating naturally plump and dewy lips. Sounds promising huh, we will find out. The colors I will be reviewing today are #CR01 Grapefruit: which is a bright coral color, #RD03 Bitter Rose: which is my everyday pick, a dusty rose color and #RD04 Berry: which is a dark berry red color. I got one gifted to me for my birthday, but I loved it so much that I got 2 more. It is super affordable (they go for 6-8 bucks) and findable online. I got mine from the Jolse Ebay store, but you can easily find it at other places too, like Yesstyle.

First time I'm adding the ingredients to a review, since a lot of us including me don't know what we are putting ON our body. It is as important as knowing what you're putting IN your body, because it's your body and you only have ONE body. So I hope this little section informs us a bit more and that it is useful.

The main ingredients are:
  • Fruit Peel Oil Complex, that includes orange peel oil and lemon peel oil. This adds nourishment and glow to the lips.
  • Lotus water that moisturizes the lips
  • Different kinds of fruit and flower extracts for revitalizing the lips

Look and feel
The packaging looks and feels sturdy. I can easily throw this in any bag or purse and it won't spill or break. It is coated with an iridescent layer, which creates a cool holographic effect. It comes with a twist cap (very secure) that spots Water Light Tint in black. What surprises me is that the brand name is nowhere to be seen on the packaging, not even at the bottom.

The pigmentation of this is insane especially for a lip tint, one coat is enough to get the right amount of product on your lips. Do keep in mind that lighter colors are more sheer and darker colors are more pigmented. If you want a softer more gradient look, you can blend it out with your fingers. I usually go with a full lip, because it slightly stains as well. My naturally lip color is quite dull so a little bit of staining is perfect for me. It glides on so easy and the texture is smooth, not leaving my lips dry at all. I like the finish as well, as claimed it is a more dewy wet finish than a greasy gloss finish that is extremely light weight. It doesn't do any plumping for me, but since I'm not looking for that in a lip product its not a big deal.

If you havent heard about this gem or are interested in trying it out, I definitely recommend this product. Go get yourself one now and let me know!

May is here, I can't believe how fast it's going. Makes me very wary of time even though I still have a lot! We're almost halfway in 2019 and I remember telling myself that I really want to grow my blog and my reach. Last week I made the decision to be active on Instagram and grow my blog through there. It's such an amazing way to show everyone what I like or don't like and the response I'm getting back is again amazing. I can't believe everyone is so nice! Not that I live in a bitter world, but everyone is so caring and genuinely looking at your content and interacting with it. I love it, I can definitely feel and see a tight community. If you didn't follow me already, go follow here: 2.19atmidnight

I picked up this lipstick a while back and what got my eye was the packaging. Just look how cute it is, come on, a heart shaped lipstick! I just haaaaad to get one. I wanted to get two colors but unfortunately the other one I want was sold out :(. But will I go back and purchase the other color? My answer is YES and you'll find soon enough why.

Look and feel
This one is self explanatory, the heart shaped packaging. Not only is the outside heart shaped, the lipstick itself is also heart shaped! It looks cute but it looks and feels cheap because it's made of plastic. The whole lipstick is packaged in a salmon pink color with the cap spotting the Holika Holika logo.

It looks cute but is it worth your pennies? Uhm yeah it is! I was suprised by how smooth this glides on my lips, it's moisturizing and lastes for quite a long time without drying out your lips. The finish is not matte but more on the glossy side. What also got me was the pigmentation, 1 layer was enough for the full color to show. After eating and drinking I was quite surprised by how much color there still was on my lips. Because this lipstick is moisturizing it doesn't settle in my lip lines while the color stays even on my lips. The only downside I have is that the heart shape might be difficult for some to apply. I thought maybe this would be perfect for my cupids bow, but everyone has different lips. For me it was a bit harder at the sides to apply but it wasn't a mess.

I will definitely repurchase the other color as well! What do you guys think?

I have always been curious about TTDEYE, because a lot of influencers promote these lenses and they all look absolutely stunning so I had to get myself a pair. If you have never heard about this brand, they are a contact lens brand founded in 2011. They got more recognition through their collaborations with famous instagrammers and influencers. Their slogan is "See Different" and they promote quality first, custom ahead. They have tons of buyers that leaves reviews with pictures so you know it's a legit contact lens brand. A famous instagrammer that I follow and works together with TTDEYE is: Bbyambi (she is stunning btw!).

I wasn't planning on getting circle lenses so I wanted something natural, more suited for an everyday look. The pair I went for was "Polar Lights Brown II". These lenses are light brown with a sparkling outer ring design and are slightly enlarging.

The packaging

It is stated that the lenses take about 10-20 days to arrive which is pretty accurate. It comes in a small box with a few goodies. I love how companies do something extra with their packaging making it more fun for the buyer when they receive it. Besides the lenses there was a lens case, postcard, glitters (probably for your makeup) and temporary tattoos in the box, yay for free stuff!
The box comes in a pink color with their logo right on top but what really caught my attention was their packaging for the lenses, it's so so pretty. It uses a holographic material for that extra oomph. I have never seen lenses stored in such a pretty way before, it made me pause for a moment lol.
The lenses

Like I first mentioned, I wanted something more natural but because I'm paying 25 bucks for these lenses I didn't want lenses that look identical to my own eye color. I wanted something different but not too crazy, so I picked a light brown color. These lenses have 6 features which is nice to know and actually gives you valuable information.
1.Advanced Sandwich Painting Tech
This embedded coloring process divides polar lights II brown contacts into 3 layers, which effectively prevent pigment layer contact your cornea directly, ensure our eyes healthy and safe.

2. UV Protection Function
Unique design protects your pupil's health, though isolate the ultraviolet light, polar lights brown II lenses can avoid some eye diseases in advance, giving your eyes more protection.

3. Smooth Edge Design
Based on people real pupil, fine colored contacts edge design offers you a comfortable feeling, natural and comfortable, without any foreign body sensation.

4. Non-ionic Raw Material
Excellent polar lights brown II contacts materials effectively against protein stains and keep your eyes moist all day.

5. Yearly Disposable
Just like ttdeye other colored contacts, ttdeye polar lights brown II contacts lenses are yearly disposable, high quality and first-class materials offer you the high cost performance, as well as bright color and enough moisture.

*Literally copied this from the ttdeye website
Water content: 38%
Thickness: 0.08mm
Texture: Polymacon
Base curve: 8.5mm
Diameter: 13.9mm/14.0mm
Period of use: 12 months

The results
These lenses look much more orange brown than light brown which made me oh-oh for a moment. But after trying them on they look more like the pictures on the website. Based on personal preferences I find this color too light for me, it makes me look.. scary. It's okay in dark lighting but when I go out in broad daylight with these, I would be scaring people like its Halloween. But that's my personal opinion because the lenses do match what they show on their website. I do really like the color when you take pictures with flash. What is worth mentioning is that these lenses are really easy to put in. They stick to my eyeball quick and easy without tearing up.

Color and design 4/5:
The color looks exactly as what is shown on the website. When you look really closely you can see the tiny dots on the lenses, but overall the design is not crazy. The outer ring is slightly darker than the inside of the lenses for a more dramatic look.

Comfort 4/5:
They are comfortable to wear for up to 6 hours and after that I have no idea because I haven't worn them for that long yet.

Enlargement 2/5:
These lenses are slightly enlarging but not too much like other lenses. If you are looking for a larger enlargement, then go for a higher diameter lens. For me these lenses are enlarging enough.

My overall opinion is that I'm satisfied with my purchase but not with my choice. I wished the color was more suited for a natural look based on personal opinion. The packaging and care of ttdeye is superb tho and I will definitely get more lenses from this brand! Hope you guys liked this review and let me know what your experiences were with this brand or if you are planning on getting lenses :)

Kisses, Diana.

Happy 2019! I wish everyone a blessed and happy new year. May all your wishes come true and good luck to your goals :) My goal for this year is to graduate and while writing this blogpost I'm also writing my thesis, wish me luck! After getting my degree I want to spend more time blogging, writing content, shooting pictures. I really hope for my blog to grow even more this year. Other goals include getting fit (so basic), eating healthy (also basic) and improve my skin. To kick off my resolutions on a positive note I have this two pretty lipsticks to review.

If you remember the Pony Effect Lipsticks I reviewed before, you would know that I loveeeee Pony. She is just goals, for real. If you don't know what I'm talking about then click here for the blogpost about her liptints. This time I have two brand new lipsticks that I want to introduce to you guys. It's also from her makeup line called "Pony Effect" and in comparison to the previous review, these are lipsticks and have a velvety finish.

Look and feel
I just love her iconic rose gold packaging, it's so pretty. This time the packaging is black with her logo in rose gold for a more edgy look. When you open the cap the lipstick container is also in rose gold for a pretty surprise. But what I absolutely adore about this lipstick is the magnetic cap. Cheers to never losing your lipsticks caps or having loose caps anymore! Another thing that I've never seen before is that the top is slightly slanted with her lightning bolt logo.

The product slides on your lips very smoothly, but I do need a few coats for the full color. I wore it the whole day, reapplied it a few times without applying any lip balm. My lips felt a bit dry but it didn't look dry to the point where you could see my lip lines which amazes me. It has a velvety semi-matte finish but I do wish it was more matte but that's due my own preferences, the finish however is pretty. This is the perfect lipstick for beginners to try out :) If you're looking for a lipstick that doesn't dry out your lips and want color build up, then look up these lipsticks from Pony Effect.

I'm keeping my eye out on more Pony products, because she has me hooked! How about you? Leave a comment in the comment section below, I would love to know :)

How do I feel about this product?

My time in Shanghai has come to an end and I'm back home. But that also means that I have my shooting gear back in hand for some bomb ass pictures ;). Sadly I couldn't buy that many makeup products because my luggage was so full from all my taobao shopping sprees. But I did pick up 2 Innisfree lipsticks during my stay in Shanghai to review for you guys!

These lipsticks are from the Real Fit Velvet range. I got them them at an Innisfree store located in Crystalleria mall at Jing'an Temple. But if you ever get the chance to visit Shanghai definitely go to the big Innisfree store located at Nanjing East Road. That one has the famous Innisfree Green cafe that is worth a visit! In Jing'an tho I picked up the colors #2 and #3.

Look and feel
They are very simple and sturdy looking, but it's made of plastic so they are more cheap looking. It's a good size to hold in your hand and because they are sturdy you can easily drop them without leaving a scratch. There's a hint of color at the bottom so you're not clueless about the lip color. Overall it's just a very basic and sturdy design.

The name suggests a velvet finish but it's definitely more leaning towards a moist finish. Especially when you apply lip balm before putting on lipstick, this effect will be amplified. The color is quite sheer so if you want a better color payoff you need to apply on several more coats for it to really show.

How do I feel about this product?
My overall opinion about this product is that I don't hate it but I also don't love it. It's just a mweh product for me. Application goes very smoothly but sets into your lip lines. The finish is also streaky and more a moist finish rather than a velvety finish. It's not drying but for some reason the finish is everything it isn't supposed to be. The color payoff for #3 is also better than #2 but it isn't long-lasting. I think I reapplied my lipstick 3 times more than usual. In the end I wouldn't repurchase these lipsticks because it doesn't have anything that's good.

Have you tried these lipsticks out? Let me know what your opinion was!
