INNISFREE REAL FIT VELVET LIPSTICK REVIEW || #2 and #3

maandag 12 november 2018

My time in Shanghai has come to an end and I'm back home. But that also means that I have my shooting gear back in hand for some bomb ass pictures ;). Sadly I couldn't buy that many makeup products because my luggage was so full from all my taobao shopping sprees. But I did pick up 2 Innisfree lipsticks during my stay in Shanghai to review for you guys!

These lipsticks are from the Real Fit Velvet range. I got them them at an Innisfree store located in Crystalleria mall at Jing'an Temple. But if you ever get the chance to visit Shanghai definitely go to the big Innisfree store located at Nanjing East Road. That one has the famous Innisfree Green cafe that is worth a visit! In Jing'an tho I picked up the colors #2 and #3.

Look and feel
They are very simple and sturdy looking, but it's made of plastic so they are more cheap looking. It's a good size to hold in your hand and because they are sturdy you can easily drop them without leaving a scratch. There's a hint of color at the bottom so you're not clueless about the lip color. Overall it's just a very basic and sturdy design.

Results
The name suggests a velvet finish but it's definitely more leaning towards a moist finish. Especially when you apply lip balm before putting on lipstick, this effect will be amplified. The color is quite sheer so if you want a better color payoff you need to apply on several more coats for it to really show.

How do I feel about this product?
My overall opinion about this product is that I don't hate it but I also don't love it. It's just a mweh product for me. Application goes very smoothly but sets into your lip lines. The finish is also streaky and more a moist finish rather than a velvety finish. It's not drying but for some reason the finish is everything it isn't supposed to be. The color payoff for #3 is also better than #2 but it isn't long-lasting. I think I reapplied my lipstick 3 times more than usual. In the end I wouldn't repurchase these lipsticks because it doesn't have anything that's good.

Have you tried these lipsticks out? Let me know what your opinion was!

OOTD #9 || Appreciating art

donderdag 20 september 2018

I always try to dress a bit more artsy and casual when I go to an art exhibition. Not only do I enjoy looking at art but I know that most art places have a great vibe and look to them. So I always try to snap a few pics when I'm there. In this case I visited M50 in Shanghai. If you ever get the chance to visit then it's a must! I recently wrote a blogpost about M50 so if you're interested then click here!

SHANGHAI || M50

dinsdag 18 september 2018

I have less than 2 months left in Shanghai and I'm feeling both sad and happy at the same time. Sad because I love this city so much and would love to stay longer, but also happy because I'm going to see my family, boyfriend and friends soon! Of course I'm still trying to explore the cool and hot spots of Shanghai in my free time and make the most of it. In this blog I'll show you around M50 which is a famous art district in Shanghai.

M50 is Shanghais own art district and its short for 50 Moganshan Road. The closest subway station is  Jiangning Road and it's a 10-15 min walk from exit 1. It's home to a lot of galleries and most of them are free of charge. Not only does it satisfy your artsy needs but it also boosts up your instagram. It's perfect for snapping some shots and you'll casually see some photoshoots going on at the location. If you're a lover of both art and photography then this is definitely a must go for you! *Keep in mind that all galleries close at 5pm

Here are some of the shots I took while I was there. If you have visited m50 let me know in the comment section below what your thoughts are about Shanghais art district :)

ETUDE HOUSE DEAR DARLING TINT REVIEW || RD401, Real Red

donderdag 19 juli 2018

It's been a while that I picked up a lip tint. The biggest reason for me to avoid them for the longest time was how it always made my lips super dry and flakey. Lip tints were also an unfamiliar trend in western countries so I always leaned more towards lipsticks even tho I loved the gradient lip look. But now I'm adjusting to the Shanghai lifestyle and trends. I've been seeing a lot of Korean influences, from Korean makeup brands to Korean makeup looks and fashion. So I tried it out one more time, a lip tint.

7828KM away || HELLO FROM SHANGHAI

maandag 9 juli 2018

Hi everyone! I'm almost 23, in my last chapter of university and all this not back at home but in Shanghai! Yup that's right, I'm currently in Shanghai to work on my thesis. I can't say much but it's for a company based here. What I can say tho is that I absolutely love it, more than any other city i've ever been to. That's why I want to share all the cool places and hotspots you should visit when you ever get the chance.

Here's a sneak preview of what I've been up to the past few months ;)

Review Off-White || Diag Padded Binder Clip Crossbody Bag

donderdag 19 april 2018

I'm so so sooo excited for this blogpost. My very first designer bag that I got for myself paid with my own money. Even tho I'm leaving soon for my exchange to Shanghai I had to spoil myself with this must have piece, a crossbody bag. I've been looking for the perfect high end crossbody bag for ages and my eyes where set on the ChloƩ Faye bag, but knowing me I'm really into streetwear and this piece is perfect to accomplish that look. Also there's a reason I got it in white.. I'm still eyeing the Faye bag in black ;)

Off-White is one of the most hyped high-end streetwear brands right now and it has been spotted in combination with other high end brands at fashion week. They're well known for their yellow industrial strap, mostly used as a belt. The Diag Padded Binder Clip retails at 780 euro. It's well known for the binder clip attached to the bag. You can get it in different colors and materials but I got the white leather one. A very dangerous one I think since white is so easy to fck up, but again an essential to have in your wardrobe especially since spring and summer is around the corner.

The bag is in a white leather color in combination with silver colored metal. The silver compliments the white very well giving it a very clean and edgy look. It has 2 straps so you can change it to your liking. It has the iconic yellow strap and a white strap matching the bag. If you want to go for a more sweet and clean look then the white strap is your to go strap. But if you're more into cool and edgy streetwear then the yellow strap will definitely be an eyecatcher. It comes with a smaller strap as well if you're more of a handbag kinda girl. When you open the bag it's quite spacious, it has two small compartments, one with a zip and one without, perfect for your ID or creditcard. It closes automatically through the magnets which comes in quite handy.

Details

On the metal rings on the side and on the binder clip the logo Off-White is spotted. It's quite dainty which I love. Also you can move the binder and clip it wherever you want on the front of the bag. When you open the bag, at the top, Off-White Made in Italy is engraved in the leather. I love how all the branding of the brand is very small and almost hidden.

Overall I'm in love with this bag, you can make any outfit edgy and cool with the yellow strap or sweet and minimal with the white strap. The only thing I dislike is that changing straps can be troublesome. It's really hard and sturdy in the beginning so it took me a while. I hope it loosens up more but for now I'm sticking to the yellow strap ;)

VDL EXPERT COLOR LIP CUBE || #501, OUTBLOOM

vrijdag 30 maart 2018

You can never say no to a red lipstick, it looks good no matter what season it is. Sexy, classy, romantic, fierce, all the looks you can achieve with just one lip color. It definitely takes courage wearing this bold color and the different tones also changes the mood you’re going for but every girl needs a shade of red in her life!

Today I’m reviewing this gorgeous dark red lipstick not only for the color but also for the special shape it has. It’s a cube lipstick meaning it’s shaped in a cube. This helps with achieving that heart shape on your lips. The cube shaped lipstick was introduced by VDL a few years ago and became a huge hit. It’s special shape made it easier to achieve the heartlike lips that made other girls jealous and boys fall in love. They were also famous through their multicolored lipsticks that were great for creating an ombre look. Another thing that caught my eye was that this lipstick has sun protection, 10 SPF to be exact. I do not own a lot of lip products with SPF so this is a major plus for me!

Look and feel
Starting of with the packaging, it’s a glossy black slim lipstick with a matte golden tip. I’m not a fan of the look to be honest, it looks quite cheap and not durable at all.

Results

It’s a darker shade of red but not completely dark red. This is definitely more day appropriate which makes it easier to play with. The pigmentation is great and it slides on so smooth.

How do I feel about this product?
This red color is definitely more work and day appopriate since it's not a bright red but a darker shade of red. The cube enhances that heart like shape which is very sexy, making it very versatile as well! Don't forget that this product has 10 SPF, so it's a no brainer that you can rock this lipstick 24 hours a day making it the perfect transitioning lipstick from day to nighttime. I just wished the packaging was different since I'm really not a fan of how it looks. Overall it's a nice lipstick to carry in your bag.

What do you guys think? Are you a fan of the cube shape or is it a pass for you?

OOTD #8 || Blue for you

woensdag 14 februari 2018

Spring is coming and it's screaming color! Bold colors are rocked at fashion week and I'm seeing one-colored outfits everywhere, from an all-white outfit to an all red outfit. One thing they have in common is that they're not afraid to make a statement because you need some confidence for this trend. But don't be afraid my upcoming fashionista's, you can easily incorporate a few bold items in your wardrobe if you're not ready to go all out yet.

Here I'm wearing a bright turquoise sweater that's long enough to cover my butt. I'm keeping it quite simple going for stockings and over the knee black boots, since the whole purpose of this look was comfy and chill but cute at the same time. If you don't want to attract to much attention than this is a great way to start with this trend. When you feel comfortable enough to style an outfit from head to toe in your favorite color than you go girl! The world is your runway. Colors to keep an eye on are red, mustard yellow or cobalt blue. Let me know in the comments what your favorite color is and if you would rock a whole outfit with this color :)

PONY EFFECT FAVORITE FLUID LIP TINT REVIEW || #LOVE POTION, #SHEER DELIGHT, #CHERISH VALUES

woensdag 31 januari 2018

Pony is my ultimate Korean beauty queen and the sole reason I started focusing more on Korean beauty. For the people who don't know her (shame on you!! jk), she's a Korean makeup artist not only well known in Korea but also globally successful. She recently did a collaboration with Bella Hadid for Dior in this super fun videogame inspired video.

She also has her own Youtube Channel and makeup line that I couldn't resist! 3 lipsticks I'm reviewing today and let me tell you.. these lipsticks are making a huge jump on to my favorites list.

Look and feel
The packaging is simple but edgy enough to catch my eye. It has your regular liquid lipstick form but it's a glossy rose gold color that I absolute adore. If you guys know me then you know my obsession for rose gold everything. The packaging has Pony Effect on it with the color from the lipstick. I assume that this is the actual product which is a nice twist but not really convenient. I've never finished a lipstick before (shocker), but I can imagine the struggle I would have when I'm almost at the end of the lipstick but I can't even see what color it is.

Results
It feels and the consistency is like a lip gloss, but the finish is not that glossy and most importantly not as sticky. It feels watery at first but then absorbs into your lips. It also stains it a bit which I love because my lips always looks weird after eating. It is pigmented but the first layer is definitely a bit sheer. If you want a solid color on your lips I recommend 2 or 3 layers for it to really pop.

How do I feel about this product?
When I first used this product I was like uuuuuh why does this feels like a lipgloss. I don't like lip glosses at all, probably because I only remember those lip glosses back in the days. You know those really cheap ones with glitter and the stickiest consistency ever, ugh nasty. But I really liked the finish of this product and was like hey, I could totally rock this. It looks more watery than glossy which gives it a more innocent and natural look. For a "lipgloss" the lasting power is quite good and it also stains your lips so you don't need to re-apply frequently. This is seriously my to go lip product for many reasons but the most important one is the fact that it doesn't dry out my lips which is perfect for the colder days. Glossy lips are making a huge comeback this year in the Korean beauty world and the Favorite Fluid Lip Tint from Pony Effect is the perfect product to pick up for this trend.

Have you guys tried out any other "Pony Effect" products? Let me know :)
