PONY EFFECT OUTFIT VELVET LIPSTICK REVIEW || #NO MAKEUP, #SOMEDAY SOMEWHERE

zondag 20 januari 2019

Happy 2019! I wish everyone a blessed and happy new year. May all your wishes come true and good luck to your goals :) My goal for this year is to graduate and while writing this blogpost I'm also writing my thesis, wish me luck! After getting my degree I want to spend more time blogging, writing content, shooting pictures. I really hope for my blog to grow even more this year. Other goals include getting fit (so basic), eating healthy (also basic) and improve my skin. To kick off my resolutions on a positive note I have this two pretty lipsticks to review.

If you remember the Pony Effect Lipsticks I reviewed before, you would know that I loveeeee Pony. She is just goals, for real. If you don't know what I'm talking about then click here for the blogpost about her liptints. This time I have two brand new lipsticks that I want to introduce to you guys. It's also from her makeup line called "Pony Effect" and in comparison to the previous review, these are lipsticks and have a velvety finish.

Look and feel
I just love her iconic rose gold packaging, it's so pretty. This time the packaging is black with her logo in rose gold for a more edgy look. When you open the cap the lipstick container is also in rose gold for a pretty surprise. But what I absolutely adore about this lipstick is the magnetic cap. Cheers to never losing your lipsticks caps or having loose caps anymore! Another thing that I've never seen before is that the top is slightly slanted with her lightning bolt logo.

Results
The product slides on your lips very smoothly, but I do need a few coats for the full color. I wore it the whole day, reapplied it a few times without applying any lip balm. My lips felt a bit dry but it didn't look dry to the point where you could see my lip lines which amazes me. It has a velvety semi-matte finish but I do wish it was more matte but that's due my own preferences, the finish however is pretty. This is the perfect lipstick for beginners to try out :) If you're looking for a lipstick that doesn't dry out your lips and want color build up, then look up these lipsticks from Pony Effect.

I'm keeping my eye out on more Pony products, because she has me hooked! How about you? Leave a comment in the comment section below, I would love to know :)

INNISFREE REAL FIT VELVET LIPSTICK REVIEW || #2 and #3

maandag 12 november 2018

My time in Shanghai has come to an end and I'm back home. But that also means that I have my shooting gear back in hand for some bomb ass pictures ;). Sadly I couldn't buy that many makeup products because my luggage was so full from all my taobao shopping sprees. But I did pick up 2 Innisfree lipsticks during my stay in Shanghai to review for you guys!

These lipsticks are from the Real Fit Velvet range. I got them them at an Innisfree store located in Crystalleria mall at Jing'an Temple. But if you ever get the chance to visit Shanghai definitely go to the big Innisfree store located at Nanjing East Road. That one has the famous Innisfree Green cafe that is worth a visit! In Jing'an tho I picked up the colors #2 and #3.

Look and feel
They are very simple and sturdy looking, but it's made of plastic so they are more cheap looking. It's a good size to hold in your hand and because they are sturdy you can easily drop them without leaving a scratch. There's a hint of color at the bottom so you're not clueless about the lip color. Overall it's just a very basic and sturdy design.

Results
The name suggests a velvet finish but it's definitely more leaning towards a moist finish. Especially when you apply lip balm before putting on lipstick, this effect will be amplified. The color is quite sheer so if you want a better color payoff you need to apply on several more coats for it to really show.

How do I feel about this product?
My overall opinion about this product is that I don't hate it but I also don't love it. It's just a mweh product for me. Application goes very smoothly but sets into your lip lines. The finish is also streaky and more a moist finish rather than a velvety finish. It's not drying but for some reason the finish is everything it isn't supposed to be. The color payoff for #3 is also better than #2 but it isn't long-lasting. I think I reapplied my lipstick 3 times more than usual. In the end I wouldn't repurchase these lipsticks because it doesn't have anything that's good.

Have you tried these lipsticks out? Let me know what your opinion was!

OOTD #9 || Appreciating art

donderdag 20 september 2018

I always try to dress a bit more artsy and casual when I go to an art exhibition. Not only do I enjoy looking at art but I know that most art places have a great vibe and look to them. So I always try to snap a few pics when I'm there. In this case I visited M50 in Shanghai. If you ever get the chance to visit then it's a must! I recently wrote a blogpost about M50 so if you're interested then click here!

SHANGHAI || M50

dinsdag 18 september 2018

I have less than 2 months left in Shanghai and I'm feeling both sad and happy at the same time. Sad because I love this city so much and would love to stay longer, but also happy because I'm going to see my family, boyfriend and friends soon! Of course I'm still trying to explore the cool and hot spots of Shanghai in my free time and make the most of it. In this blog I'll show you around M50 which is a famous art district in Shanghai.

M50 is Shanghais own art district and its short for 50 Moganshan Road. The closest subway station is  Jiangning Road and it's a 10-15 min walk from exit 1. It's home to a lot of galleries and most of them are free of charge. Not only does it satisfy your artsy needs but it also boosts up your instagram. It's perfect for snapping some shots and you'll casually see some photoshoots going on at the location. If you're a lover of both art and photography then this is definitely a must go for you! *Keep in mind that all galleries close at 5pm

Here are some of the shots I took while I was there. If you have visited m50 let me know in the comment section below what your thoughts are about Shanghais art district :)

ETUDE HOUSE DEAR DARLING TINT REVIEW || RD401, Real Red

donderdag 19 juli 2018

It's been a while that I picked up a lip tint. The biggest reason for me to avoid them for the longest time was how it always made my lips super dry and flakey. Lip tints were also an unfamiliar trend in western countries so I always leaned more towards lipsticks even tho I loved the gradient lip look. But now I'm adjusting to the Shanghai lifestyle and trends. I've been seeing a lot of Korean influences, from Korean makeup brands to Korean makeup looks and fashion. So I tried it out one more time, a lip tint.

7828KM away || HELLO FROM SHANGHAI

maandag 9 juli 2018

Hi everyone! I'm almost 23, in my last chapter of university and all this not back at home but in Shanghai! Yup that's right, I'm currently in Shanghai to work on my thesis. I can't say much but it's for a company based here. What I can say tho is that I absolutely love it, more than any other city i've ever been to. That's why I want to share all the cool places and hotspots you should visit when you ever get the chance.

Here's a sneak preview of what I've been up to the past few months ;)

Review Off-White || Diag Padded Binder Clip Crossbody Bag

donderdag 19 april 2018

I'm so so sooo excited for this blogpost. My very first designer bag that I got for myself paid with my own money. Even tho I'm leaving soon for my exchange to Shanghai I had to spoil myself with this must have piece, a crossbody bag. I've been looking for the perfect high end crossbody bag for ages and my eyes where set on the Chloé Faye bag, but knowing me I'm really into streetwear and this piece is perfect to accomplish that look. Also there's a reason I got it in white.. I'm still eyeing the Faye bag in black ;)

Off-White is one of the most hyped high-end streetwear brands right now and it has been spotted in combination with other high end brands at fashion week. They're well known for their yellow industrial strap, mostly used as a belt. The Diag Padded Binder Clip retails at 780 euro. It's well known for the binder clip attached to the bag. You can get it in different colors and materials but I got the white leather one. A very dangerous one I think since white is so easy to fck up, but again an essential to have in your wardrobe especially since spring and summer is around the corner.

The bag is in a white leather color in combination with silver colored metal. The silver compliments the white very well giving it a very clean and edgy look. It has 2 straps so you can change it to your liking. It has the iconic yellow strap and a white strap matching the bag. If you want to go for a more sweet and clean look then the white strap is your to go strap. But if you're more into cool and edgy streetwear then the yellow strap will definitely be an eyecatcher. It comes with a smaller strap as well if you're more of a handbag kinda girl. When you open the bag it's quite spacious, it has two small compartments, one with a zip and one without, perfect for your ID or creditcard. It closes automatically through the magnets which comes in quite handy.

Details

On the metal rings on the side and on the binder clip the logo Off-White is spotted. It's quite dainty which I love. Also you can move the binder and clip it wherever you want on the front of the bag. When you open the bag, at the top, Off-White Made in Italy is engraved in the leather. I love how all the branding of the brand is very small and almost hidden.

Overall I'm in love with this bag, you can make any outfit edgy and cool with the yellow strap or sweet and minimal with the white strap. The only thing I dislike is that changing straps can be troublesome. It's really hard and sturdy in the beginning so it took me a while. I hope it loosens up more but for now I'm sticking to the yellow strap ;)
